Well some of you may know i got a pretty hefty ticket (94 in a 65) a few months ago in the R.
Right after I got a lawyer, paid him, signed a waiver for him to represent me in court and everything. Today my folks (i live at college) get a letter from the state saying my license will be revoked because no one showed up at my court date . Complete and utter bullshit. I have another attorney talking to the one i had for the ticket, hopefully this will get resolved in my favor.

 

The lawyer never even showed up?!?

Report this to the NC Bar - that's highly unprofessional.

Where are you fighting this from? W-S or elsewhere? If it's in Winston, I can probably get you some names.

 

Polk County. My sisters good friend is a lawyer in charlotte, and his firm recommended this guy in polk county. so i'm talking to the guy in charlotte because i think his firm will have an interest in this. I'll know more tonight.

Even if you get reimbursed for the lawyer fees/ticket, it might be tough to get any money for your insurance premiums. That sucks man, good luck!

 

Ok been on the phone for two days now trying to get this figured out. Seems the original lawyer doesnt work in the county i needed, but didnt tell me. So he's giving me back my $$$, writing a letter to the DA of the correct county. I'm getting in touch with lawyers in the right county. so we'll see
