Default Tracking OLD re010's

I'm trying to convince a young guy in my neighborhood to bring his Accord to a hpccc to experience a driver's school. It won't be easy for him to come up with entry fee plus decent brake pads and tires, so I was going to give him my old re010's. They've got enough tread left on them, BUT they've been sitting in my garage for 3-4 years and they feel pretty petrified. Will they be too hard to use at the track, or will he be better off driving on his generic all-season tires?

The two front RE010s on my car right now had been in the storage for 3yrs and they are performing fine. I'm from CA though...

Hey Jim, if the side walls aren't cracked I think they will be fine. After they have been driven on they should soften up some.

*Why don't I ever hear of these events until it is too late *

5-6 years is the shelf life for tires. - Road and Track
