Clearance issues with sway bar and exhaust... Help!!
Hey everyone. I'm having some clearance issues after installing my Comptech sway / tie bar combo onto my 2000 civic coupe.
When I first installed it, the exhaust pipe (RS*R EX Mag) was resting right on the swaybar, no clearance. Got some new hangers, and there was about 1/10th an inch of clearance, but it rattled like a biotch.
Went to another parts store, asked for hangers from an Si, and they were shorter than the ones I had. Put them on, now there's about 1/4in clearance between the pipe and the bar. Now it STILL rattles a ton, everytime the exhaust moves (accelerating, idling, turning) and it's freakin' killing me. It's also marking up the exhaust and bar from the contact.
WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE THIS? I was thinking about filling the mounts with urathane to keep the movement of the piping down (since at rest, there's clearance). I'm also thinking about taking the whole exhaust apart and re-installing because it's always seemed to hang a little low at the back where the pipe bends, but I don't know if it would help (there's quite a gap between the pipe and heat sheild, when the stock fit right up in there).
