Default Whats needed to put si head on a hf block?

Someone is giving me a si head for free and I was wondering what I would need to put it on a hf block. I've already figured headgasket, headbolts, and a si ecu to make it run right. Anything else I should need?

You need to put Si pistons in it also because HFs do not have valve reliefs in the pistons.

Do the si pistons fit on the hf rods without modification?

I believe they are the same rods

So if the pistons and rods are still good in the SI block then I could just swap them over? I'm not sure if they are though because the reason I'm getting a free head and tranny is the block has a hole in it.

If the block has a hole, maybe the previous owner threw a rod or something fun along those lines. So check the pistons out and see if they are OK, and you can pretty much guess that at least one of the rods has eaten the dust.

Yeah I'm figuring something pretty bad went wrong but if the pistons are ok I figure to go ahead if not I'll just save my money for a swap.

The rod journal sizes are different between the si and hf motors.. I know the mains are the same size for the d15b7,b2, and the b6(hf) motors.. So get a crank, rods and pistons from a b2/b7 and put into your hf block and your good to go.. I have a set if your interested..
