Default My K20A EG civic

Well here you go this is my EG with a JDM K20A using Factory DC2R driveshafts with K20A inner CV's and a LINK PLUS engine Management..
So far it has run 12.43 @ 110mph and has a fastest trap speed of 112mph.
The car was still running the full factory body work, with a stripped interior, 8 point cage, and lexan windows. It has since had a new Diff, custom rear axle conversion etc done but no pics are available at the moment of that as we are still waiting on a couple of parts before its completed

for those that are interested this car is running over 220whp on a dynapack hub dyno... run up in 4th gear. taking into account we dont run VTC KILLER cam gears yet or use the VTC at all I dont think it was to ba at all.. The car pulled cleany from start to finish without dropping off before we stopped revving it at 8800.. And no I dont have a dyno sheet to put up as I have added heaps of other peoples runs to my ones to see how they all compare..

Car looks good. I'll have to get some pics of my friend Reid's 92 with a JDM DC5-R K20A. Sponsored by Unorhodox Racing and TODA. Last month he turned an 11.40 with a totally built motor. I could be wrong, but I do believe he was the first with the swap when it was done in Sept.

If you attended any NHRA events last summer (Vegas, Woodburn, Pamona) you would have seen his Dodge Dakota Copper colored hatch. Full fiberglass front and doors. Like I said, I'll get pics from him this weekend. He also has dyno charts and I could be mistaken but I'm almost positive he was in the 300whp range N/A

Hes now broke and moved to Pullman, WA so he can attend WSU. His daily driver is a built B16 turbo. The K20 runs SDS and the B16 runs the AEM system.

Very very nice!!!

I just hope that honda sticks with the k series as long as it did with the B series

LINK PLUS engine Management is a new zealand company and they are trying to get introduced in the states as well.... in hondata territory... What is weird, is that hondata founders were also from new zealand... WHAT THE HELL is going in New Zealand?

Thanks heaps. Were As for NZ we are just a little country that dont want JDM speed limiter etc in our cars thats we most of the companies started up.. We have one of the biggest number of racing cars pre population.. FOR example we run a Night drag wars series over summer its every second friday night, the first one this year had over 300 racers and 1500+people watching.. We have an Import nationals that has around 300 racers and last year there was over 15000people watching.. Modifing cars is a way of life for young people over here we dont have anything else better to do..

nice nice nice

How does the American dollar hold up in New Zealand? I used to be really into bicycling and I talked to some people in Australia and NZ, and they couldnt order stuff from the states because the exchnge rate sucked then. I guess with hondas, you dont have to order american products.

Well we get stuff from Japan and the states. We also fabricate anything thats to big to ship, like our solid rear set-up etc, some stuff costs for to ship than it does to buy..

I have been launching between 6200-7500 as once I get over 8000rpm I had a little bit of clutch creep and the diff had a problem of only spinning one wheel for the first 10-20ft which isnt a nice feeling. Hopefully with the help of the new diff and axle set-up along with the 200+lb's the car has lost I'll be able to get of the line at 8500rpm and run down to 1.5 60ft's fingers crossed anyway...
I'm also looking at fabricating a new header and getting some VTC killer cams gears for it so hopefully the car will have close to the 250whp mark..

Why have you decided to remove the VTC?

I dont really want to run a Hondata as it has t much of a wiring loom and my car has been extremely de-loomed. Also the factory Cam resting point isnt at 0' it's about 25' retarded from what we can tell so I'll fix that and get the cheap hp from that and run the car as a 2.0l Vtec instead..

i think reid was the first to use a K series motor in a NHRA event and he only had it in for pomona b4 the huge fallout with his BS company he worked for at the time. yes, last month he did run 11.48 but as of yet he told me he didnt have any dyno #s for the motor.
almost all figures ever produced from reids old camp were ficticious #s they put together. im not saying that 300WHP is unacheivable but not with only a 11.48 @118. he is still using those 26" slicks i told him to ditch over a yr ago and only used 4 out of his 6 gears.
