Default What to look for?

Hi names Luka and sorta new well not really just havent been active for quite some time but its summer time and relaxing time sooooo i decided to finally do a swap on my 91 si hatch on the 23rd... Im swaping the stock si engine with a dohc Zc. Im sure alot of you have done this process and im just wondering what i should look out for? what problems (potential problems) i might encounter along the way. Any information will be appreciated

also im just getting into this tuneing thing so im going to be side by side with a mechanic friend(13 yrs in mechanics), but im eager to learn. Ive read a swap tutorial at http://www.dmoore.com/crx/zc.htm Found it quite helpfull so far. If you know of any others id also appreciate the links hehe.

thanks.

The biggest pain with my zc swap was the bitch pin in the shift linkage. If its never been taken out in 13-15 or so years theyre not fun to get out. 8mm punch and a small sledge with some PB blast and it should be ok. The zc swap is pretty straightforward, pull old motor out, put zc in. You pull 2 wires out of the 7 wire Si dizzy plug and run them to the cam sensor and bam. Should be an easy swap especially with the help of your friend. I did mine by myself.

Basically when you get a engine, I dont think your going to want to drop it in. If it was me? I would overhaul the sucker and put new orings, pumps, vacuum lines and all that good stuff. Things you may want to ask are..

Miles on the engine
Does the engine burn oil
Any leaks
Last checkup (if any, many of them come from the yards)
Can i get a big discount on them? Please?
