Does anyone have the OBX exhaust? If so, can you tell me how it sounds and provide some sound clips. Also how loud it is?

 

for the last time, OBX = redneck made TRASH

 

I needed an exhaust bad so I bought the OBX catback system w/the greddy Evo style muffler. It came with a resonator and a silencer so it can be made loud but w/o the silencer it is fairly loud but deep and it actually sounds pretty good. The silencer is adjustable so I just installed it and closed it up and I'll probably keep it that way until I have my turbo installed. The quality of the welds are good and the fitment is pretty good. It sits at a good position compared to the bumper, doesn't really stick out too far, and it has alot better ground clearance than the OEM style exhaust that was on my car. THe one thing i did was high-temp sprayed all the welds in so they wouldn't rust. It is an all stainless exhaust and its polished but I wasn't sure if the welds were stainless so I figured I'd coat them so the salt wouldn't eat them away. This exhaust is on my 94 2dr LS teg. I should get some pics up here and maybe a soundclip if anyone is interested at least. For $275 shipped I think it was well worth it. iIt will sure last longer than a custom bent steel exhaust in this super-salted area of PA. Se

 

If you need a cheap exhaust, go with Megan Racing. Good fitment, all stainless including the welds, sounds good too. I think they're like 350 shipped, too.

not all obx products are garbage, maybe like 5 years ago... but a lot more people are using obx these days on their rides

OBX exhaust products are too loud. A friend of mine had one and it sucked. It looked like a piece of crap too. I personally would look into something else. Just my .02

 

My friend has the obx catback. He has a test-pipe though. It was good quality, but with the test pipe, it was the loudest most raspy exhaust I've ever heard!! I'm sure with a cat it would still be pretty loud, but probably a lot less raspy.

 

megan makes a great exhaust. i have one on my integra.
