Default Alpine Type R 10" sub with which amp?

I'm tryin to help my buddy set up just a sub and amp to add to his ride. He wants a 10" Alpine Type R (RMS: 100-300; Peak: 1000; dual 2-ohm coils)
I'm wondering if this amp would be good enough for it or does he need somethin with a bit more power?
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...13200
(350 watts RMS X 1 at 2 ohms; Max power: 700)

He is only lookin to spend 5-600 on it, and we still need to set up a box, so if you think this is a bad setup, can i have some other suggestions?
TIA

you cant... you can only wire a 2 ohm DVC to 4 or 1 ohms... i got dual 4ohm and am gonna run a MRD-M500 to it at about 400-500 watts RMS at 2 ohms... so try to find something that will push that sub around 400-500 at 4 ohms.

then the amp he is thinking of will NOT suit that subwoofer!

maybe the amp can go to 1ohm but i see no specs for that, i think if it could he could turn down the gain if its too much

but as far as i know alpine amps don't like 1ohm

correct me if im wrong
