Testing Waters- Supercharged 1990 Mustang 5.0
Well with my college schooling soon upcoming I am looking to part with my baby to help pay tuition fees. Here are some specs on the car:
1990 Mustang GT 5.0
5spd manual, 107K original miles, cold ac, cc, pw, pdl
Interior, exterior, suspension and anything not having to do with the motor are completely stock(Other than slightly wider than stock rear tires)
Mods-
Powerdyne Supercharger kit(6-7psi)
Bassani Longtube headers
Bassani 3" off road X-Pipe
Flowmaster 40 series Catback
30lb Injectors
190lph Walboro In-tank Fuel Pump
70mm MAF calibrated for injectors
Ported lower and upper stock intake manifold
The car put down 314hp and 346tq at the rear wheels on only 6lbs of boost...the car is set up to take about 11lbs and all you'll need to achieve this is a smaller blower pulley. All parts were purchased brand new and have 8K miles on them at the most. The blower was internally rebuilt with a stronger kevlar belt and heavy duty bearings 5K miles ago to take the abuse if you ever want to up the boost. Mechanically the car runs excellent. Perfect idle, tranny shifts smooth as butter without any grinds and the clutch doesnt slip a bit. This car has been babied its whole life and I am the second owner. The car pulled a 12.7@109 with full interior, on pump gas riding on some 10" slicks. With a better driver the car is easily capable of low 12's. I am looking to get $8,000

lol....yeah stock rear end gears own me....throw some 3.73's in the rear and the car would pull and 11 second run even with me driving it

no, but that fact my friends n/a 5.0 ran a 12.2@LACR shows me that s/c'd mustang is kinda slow for being s/c'd

yeah, low 12's seems kind slow but if you put about $300 into getting some 3.73's and a smaller blower pulley low 11's wouldn't be a problem....does that seem fast enough for a s/c'd mustang? I'd like to see a supcheraged honda with twice the money invested do that.
yeah for the money its quick...but im just saying in the world of rustangs that the times could be a lot faster with gears
it would smoke majority of the hondas on here, i wasnt dissing it saying its slow in general

lol....thanks for rubbing it in
you have to realize this is a very mild set up, just your basic bolt on 6lb blower kit, a free flowing exhaust, and enough fuel to support the upgrades
I'm sure you friend is pushing twice the boost and has some interal work(heads & cam) and most likely had a gear swap as well...if you could get a mod list on it I'd like to see it

8.5" tire
6lbs of boost
stock block
shitty H/C/I's
4.10 gears
fried clutch
as soon as his clutch is fixed and he gets bigger tires..if he goes all out, at Carlsbad he should run 11 flat if not break into the 10's
