the mugen ecu goes to what 9200? .....and that's for stock cams and stock valve springs.
I'd say go at least that high with spec a's. Sometimes you need to leave it in gear..... especially when autoxing or road racing. If you plan to go higher than 9200 rev limiter, then get the toda valve springs for that extra margin of safety.

mugen DOES NOT recommend the used of their ECU with stock valvesprings

you DO realize that mugen valve springs are simply rebadged honda ones, right?
i have spec a's and have taken the rev limiter to 9200 many times... stock valve springs of course.
Also, I know many on this board running the mugen ecu with their stock cams and valve springs who have been zinging the 9200 limiter there with no ill effects for years now on the street and on track... Ed, care to chime in?

i used to run a 9200 limiter on a stock jdm itr.
i say set your limiter to 9200rpm, but on a drag race shift at the stock 8600 rpm,
would be better to dyno it and find out where the curve is, so this way you know exactlly where your power is.
