How to POSITIVELY I.D. 290cc Prelude injectors?
I've read through the archives, and found the below thread regarding identifying Prelude 290cc injectors.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=553832
Besides the lettering mentioned in that thread, are there any other physical differences that would serve to positively differentiate the Prelude injectors from B-series injectors?
One of the reasons I ask is because I found the below photo in another thread. The markings on the top injector (brown tip) seem somewhat similar to the claimed Prelude markings indicated in the linked thread above, and different from the claimed ITR injector markings. The poster of the photograph states that the top injector is an OBD2 Civic Si, and the bottom is Prelude 290cc. Thanks in advance.

Here's the rundown on the cc's of Prelude injectors:
92-95 Non-VTEC peak and hold 240cc
92-96 VTEC peak and hold 330cc
97-01 VTEC saturated 280cc
On the OBD1 prelude peak and hold injectors they have a green tip as well as a small notch in the clip(in between the two metal prongs). A B-series OBD1 injector also has a green tip, but in the clip, they have two notches on each side. Not to mention they are saturated(high resistance) vs. peak and hold(low resistance)for the Prleude. This can be tested with an ohm meter.
In regards to OBD2 injectors, it's hard to tell the difference between B and H series visually. They are both saturated(high-resistance) and will have the same ohm reading and have the same clips. The tips might be different in color. For instance, a 97-01 Type-R has orange-like tips and a B16A(99-2000 Si) has a brown tip.
Hope this info helps.

I believe this is correct id of the picture above. Prelude 290's have a black tip, but otherwise the body looks very similar than other B series injectors.
the black tipped injector above is a 97-01 prelude injector
Just took apart my moms 98 Lude (fuel rail) to find out, lol

So are the 97-01 prelude injectors 280cc or 290cc?

Just thought I'd add to this ancient thread. I bought a set of what I thought were stock Prelude injectors on eBay because I needed them. Of course, I can't visually see and verify that they are Prelude injectors, so I sent them off to Witchhunter to get cleaned and flow tested. I guess they came back as 240cc that flow really well? Pisses me off that I spent $45 on eBay for them and then $90 to get them cleaned and flow tested. I should have just bought aftermarket knock off brand stock Prelude injectors. Now I have no idea to tell if I have peak and hold injectors vs saturated injectors?
Mine are OBD2 lude injectors. When I got them, they had brown tips, but as I sent them off the RC for Blueprinting, they replaced all plastic parts and now the tips are black. They tested out at 290cc (295) once cleaned and balanced. I had the same issue where I bought some off of the Bay and sent them off only to find they were 240cc teg injectors. bought another set (From Asahi as I recall) and they were pretty dirty, one was barely dripping, others had pretty bad spray patterns, but they were real lude injectors and came back from RC as good as new..
Stock OBD2 Prelude injectors are 290cc, not 280.

Well at this point I'm frustrated since I spent $90 on the cleaning and testing, only to have some nice and clean 240cc injectors I guess. The ones I took off my Prelude today had to have been 240cc as well, because when I put these nice new cleaned ones on there today, the car is freaking out. Gotta get it to a tuner tomorrow to have him correct some stuff on that end. But it's flowing more fuel now, I know it. I would send the old ones I pulled off for cleaning and testing too, but I don't want to spend another $90 to find out they're also 240cc injectors. I'm really just about to buy brand new injectors to make sure I get some 290cc.
I took a pic of the new 240cc cleaned ones next to an older one. They both have different letter/numbers on them, but Google did me no good.
