I picked up my paint yesterday and I'd like to spray the car this weekend, but I need to pick up a gun. Should I rent a nice gun, or for the same $25-50, buy one on sale at the loca harborfreight store? Is HVLP the way to go? I wouldn't know a quality paint gun it it walked up and bit me in the a##, so any advice is appreciated.

 

i've used older sears ones a few times and had no trouble.. also you might want to check out home depot, they seemed to have a decent selection..

 

I have a $25 gun I purchase off of ebay...

The gun works just fine....my painting skills could use some work.

 

You can get a fairly decent spray gun from Home Depot for around $45.00 They are good for a few paint jobs then throw them away. The ones from Harbor Freight could be ok? but more likely about as much use as a Hip Pocket on a Tee Shirt. You get what you pay for.
