Default my 1st DIY CF project (pics inside)

so here it goes.. small and simple.. flame if you really have to, i can care less.

i dont have pics of it on the car yet. i will have them up later on today.

antenna block off plate:







Vap or mods if u think this dont belong here pls move it. i just decided to post it here since the part is for the EFs

Can you just buy carbon fiber sheet lik you would normal fiberglass?

How do you do it?

yes, u can buy carbon cloth just like fiber glass


u can just use ur imagination to make it.. u need a mold for it.. so i made my own.

Im really interested if you could write a little how to or some points?

yes they are several ways on how to work with CF. do a search on google and u will find alot of info on it.

also FG resing would work with CF but it wont give you a clear coat. it turns brownish.

yes u can buy all the materials online. in the serach you will find alot of places u can buy stuff from.

Did you just CF over a stock block off plate? Or did you make a mold and make the plate out of 100% CF materials?

no i made my own mold. its made out of 2 layers of fibergalss and one of carbon fiber

i think the most time consuming part was making the mold. this is actauly the 2nd. the first one came out kinda gayish lol. but im getting better at it. im working on another part at the moment its a bit bigger.

DITTO on that c/f cluster cover, mine's has a big crack. this happened when some culohole broke into my baby and took of with my tach... so i need one but if u make it aou of c/f, i'm first in lineeeeeeeeeee.
