Replacing 86 Accord Radiator
This is my first post on this group.
My 1986 Honda Accord Sedan (5-speed manual) is leaking alot of fluid. Looks like there's a crack on the bottom of the radiator, but the stuff only seems to come out when the engine is running.
so, I am hoping the experts can weigh in on what to do. Can it be fixed? Is it best to replace with a used radiator? A new radiator?
Now, in terms of removing and re-installing, it looks like the unit comes out the bottom, as it seems to be bolted to the chassis up top. Is this so? Do I need any special tools?
Sadly, this is the tip of the iceberg with this car. One of the pipes leading to the muffler is cracked. The car seems to be leaking a little oil. The right front tie rods seem loose. But, the car still gets about 31mph at 65 on the highway.
any and all feedback is welcome.

You might want to check the hoses before you go and replace the radiator. Hoses are a hell of a lot cheaper to replace.
But if it is the radiator, it sounds like you need to replace it. You can replace it with a used or new. On my 87 accord, I replaced mine with one out of a junkyard and haven't had a problem. But you take your chance doing it that way. The radiator should unbolt from the top. Their is a bar across the top that holds in the radiator and AC condensor. Unbolt that and then the radiator should come straight up. unplug the sensors and connections for the fans and you should be straight.
But i would check the hoses. Hope that helps

Its only leaking when its running because its pressurized. Actually the radiater is removed from the top after you remove the fans and a couple of mounting brackets, hoses and plugs. No need for any special tools, just metric sockets and wrenchs and screwdrivers and plyers. I would find a GOOD USED radiater and install it. I tried to fix mine but ended up getting a new one.
