Engine and Trans swaps
I have an 87 CRX HB with a d15a2. Tranmission is Automatic.
Can you please give me some engines that would give my car more performance and would fit into it? I'm thinking a b16z6???? Any others?
Also, I know I would have to change the transmission. How much would all this cost me?
Also, is it possible to upgrade to a v-tech and Si?

First of all man, i don't think their was a b16z6
There is however SOHC Vtec that comes off the 92-95 civic Ex which is the d16z6. Im not sure if they'll fit into the 87 chassis of the CRX but I know wiring would definitely have to be changed over to OBD-1. Don't do it ghetto and go OBD-0, do it the right way the first time.
And Vtech is a friggin phone company man. Get your facts straight..VTEC (not vtech) stands for Variable Timing and Engine Control. If you got the SI engine of the 87 CRX then itll drop in im assuming. Any other engines later, Im guessing will need work. Hope that helps..
Oh yeah theres a lil feature at the top called search. Make sure you toggle the archives and search away

For info and help on 1g CRXs (84-87) go to http://redpepperracing.com , however they seem to be having server problems today. Anything will fit with enough money but the only *easy* swap is the D16A1 engine/tranny/axles/hubs/ecu from an 86-89 Integra. Swapping any 88+ d-series into a 1g crx is an absolute PITA because all of the engine/tranny mounts are different. Like I said above, it can be done but for that much effort you might as well swap in a b-series with a Hasport mount kit. Maverik4k is correct that you need to search but he didn't give you any keywords (
to him ) so I will: d15a3,d16a1, hydra, ew3, ew4. There, that should give you a few weeks worth of reading material.
