im 5'3" what can i fit?
Well even though people say not to do it u can lower your bike of choice... Now you're gonna hear so many people say you are gonna mess of the geometry of the bike but unless you plan on getting your knee down around corners you should be perfectly fine
I have same problem. I'm 5-7 and have a small waist so I have long toothpick legs. When I sat on my friends 03 GSXR1000 I was tip toed hardcore. I felt very unstable and had to lean way forward to grab the handlebars.. I need a bike that has a seat height of like 29" or less. I think all the GSXR's are 31"+

it's not as much the suspension and steering geometry on a street bike as much as it's your oil pan clearance.
one badly judged speedbump and you'll be wishing you hadnt installed lowering dogbones. even worse, getting high-centered on one and forcing yourself to drag the underside of the bike over the bump.

any reason why it has to be a Gixxer? shaving the seat pad will net you nearly one inch if done right. i'm 5'6" and had no problem sitting/riding the '04 Gixxer 750... i could place the ***** of my feet on the ground and the reach was comfortable, for a sportbike. i have a 29" inseam.

Hard to find now but this is what I ride. 650cc, 400#, seat 30.6"
I'm the same size as you. Just keep looking, there are bikes out there that fit short people.

I don't think it's so much your total height, but your inseam that's more important when you're talking about being able to put your foot/feet down.
I'm also 5'3" and my inseam is 28. I'm currently riding an non-lowered F4i...and yeah, sometimes it gets a little wonky on the hills and trying to park, but for the most part it's manageable if you plan ahead.
Somebody once posted a link dedicated to short riders. Do a search for it; it's a good read.
For somebody like us, I recommend (after taking the MSF course) a Honda Hawk ( like 91Hawk's ) or a Honda CB1...both are hard to find but they're also really fun bikes to ride.
Good luck.

i'm about 5-6. ive found that the older gsxrs(older than 01) are wider and a little trickier to ride. i had an r6 which sat pretty low. i think once you get used to bikes, it doesnt matter as much anymore; ive been riding a 929rr lately without any problems.
I'm 5'7", and I'm confortable on my 04 ZX6R which has a pretty high seat height...
If you cant reach with 2 feet you can always learn how to balance the bike on 1.

yea, there's this motorcycle shop owned by a short chinese man. i'd say he's 5'5 at most but he seems to have no problem when test riding the bikes.

The Honda Hawk (pistured above) and CB-1 are good handling shorter bikes.
The SV650 should work well too - excellent bike too.
You can lower most of the modern bikes out there but as noted, clearance will be an issue.
Also if ya lower the rear don't forget to lower the front to the same stock geometry it came with.
Modifying the seat and some suspension set up sometimes will be all ya need - a pair of boots wouldn't hurt ya much there either.

Thats cool and all but I want a sport bike, not a cruiser/harley type bike.

No, you don't need feet flat on the ground. At least you didn't back in the dark ages when I got my license. You do have to demonstrate your proficiency at worthless low speed maneuvers, though.

No you're not too short, I can handle my 01 Gixxer 600 @ 5'3" just fine. Another friend of mine is 5'1" and is capable of railing his 01 R6 just as well. Good luck
