Getting a 1989 Honda CRX Si off of my buddy near the end of summer, and i was just wondering(since i am not too familiar with these i have an rx7) if there are any cheap, do-it-yourself mods that will help me make some decent power while i am saving for a B18C.

So far i got these ideas:

1)Cheapy CAI

2)Exhaust

3)D17 Manifold??? (Would this help much???)

4)Chip??

Just save for the new motor.

 

d16a6s are kick *** motors. I say if you do anything get a y8 head and slap that bad boy on there. But with a z6 intake manifold and cai, header, exhaust. You have at least a high 14s car. This would be with slicks and good driver of couse.

The options are endless. Like deftones said, putting a vtec head & intake manifold would be the best bang-for-the-buck mod. Or scrapping a turbo kit together...or both.

 

If you're ALREADY set on going B18C each $ that goes into your D16A6 is money that gets taken away from the B18C funds.

I recommend just getting it back to basic stock with tune up change of filters, timing all that good stuff

 

i say dont waste ur time..just save up for the b18
