what is a civic STD ??
is that another term for a 4dr ED ??
(trying to search for an answer to my axle question and i found this line
91 Civic Si axles will fit all 88-91 CRX/Civic Si and DX - will not fit at hub end on Civic STD or CRXHF
i have 91 civic si axles and a 90 4dr DX..
is an STD the same thing as a 4dr DX ?

Sometimes the non-Si CRX is referred to as a STD. Though it's usually called the DX. It's not really a STD, cause it has a 5 speed not a 4. Canada could be different though.
Just my .02 cents

the standard does in fact share axles & hubs with the CRX HF. If you're swapping in another transmission from a DX or Si, you can use the STD axles as all of the inner axle spline counts are the same on d and b series, but the spline count in the hub is the difference.
D series into STD = use STD axles, or swap hubs with a DX/LX/EX/Si and use those respective axles.
B series into STD = *must* swap hubs & axles.
