quick help plz!!!! si axles in 4dr DX ?
car -
90 DX 4dr
new eng/trans -
D16A6
eng/trans came with axles (i'm asuming si because they're fatter shafts)
drivers side 'seems' to be ok, but the passenger side spins in the hub when i try to tighten the axle nut..
is it just not lined up right or do i need to replace my hubs or rotors or something ?
(stock axles are shot anyway.. found that out when i removed them for the swap)
thanks
chris

i found this in a search :
91 Civic Si axles will fit all 88-91 CRX/Civic Si and DX - will not fit at hub end on Civic STD or CRX HF
what is a civic STD ?
is that another term for a 4dr DX ?
(i'm right in the middle of this guys, currently.. getting grease all over my keyboard.. any info would help me.. )
thanks..

The hubs are different on the 91 si compared to the 88 dx. When I did this conversion I ran my crappy DX Tranny and all the DX axles worked great. I think you can even do an intermediate shaft setup with parts off a DOHC zc drivetrain. To answer your question you have to get 89-91 si hubs(/bearings?)
excellent!! thank you!!! (heh.. yes, i'm that eager for any answer, good or bad)
ok.. so all i have to do is replace my my hubs to si..
is that going to include rotors ? if that's the case, is that going to include calipers ?
heh
re-removing the D16 to switch out the tranny's ISN'T an option..
will my stock DX axles fit into the si tranny at least ? so that i can use those for now until i replace whatever i have to replace to make the si axles work ?

As long as you have the rotors that match the spindle and caliper. The caliper mounting holes are in different spots. I believe you can pluck these off 90-93 integras too. The si/integra spindle/hub/front brakesa are alot beefier and are well worth the extra effort. Have fun
