Default Got my new Drag Radials Mounted today :)

Ijust got my 225x50x15 BFG's for this weekend. They are sweet. I was playing with the tread blocks and they are sooooo soft. They are gonna hook like crazy. They are huge too. I have some pics below. I tried to line them up to the Rotas with 205x50x15's Azenis , and i can tell its gonna nee tobe jacked up a bit to clear.lol
Im gonna tryto break 11's on them this weekend. But realistically i will prob hit real low 12's on such low boost.

I know nothing about drag radials, but do they need to be heat cycled?

I wouldn't think "heat cycling" would be an issue, since he's not going to be destroying the tires with ~30 min. track sessions.

Note: I only had 2/3 of my tire after Beaver on Sunday. It was beyond cording!!! I was driving on the belts. Whoops !

when those things break in, they are awesome. I feel like mine are just now breaking in and starting to hook nicely. But mine have about 30 passes on them. Lower them to around 15psi. Try both the water box and no water box and see which way they stick better. I seem to be able to warm them up better in the box but Ive heard they are better outside the box. I hope you get some video this weekend!

Sure, heat cycling for those tires is a little different than road course, it goes a little like this...

Pull up to pre-stage, pull up parking brake, let out the clutch at mid to high revs, nail the throttle, then waaapsshwaaapsshwaapssh (with plumes of white tire smoke), get off the gas, depress clutch, pull around the water box, stage, and then launch

ive raced on both tires and i can tell you they are 100x better than Azenis. Azenis sidewall is too stiff, the rubber is kinds sticky, but it dont help too much if they cant crumble .

im gonna find the right operating temp for them and see what i gotta do to get thme close.

but i will prob drop them to 10psi and take them thru the box and get em nice and warm. after burnout they should be like 12-14psi and nice and sticky.
Ive raced on em before and talked to BFG already, i kinda have an idea of what to do on them .

Hehe ...

Pete, I'd bet you'll be in the 11s (you got a "cage").
Don't get yourself tossed off the track tooo early.

nope, no cage yet. im hoping for 11's, but honestly i will prob only get low 12's. im still running off the wastegate spring so at 10psi im prob only like 350-375whp now that i got the bugs worked out.

hopefully i will have someone to tape the runs. i think my friend is taking his digicam to get them on camera. but the qaulity is nowhere even close to the Digi Camcorder. i gotta get one of them joints soon . i have the reg dig8 ****
