I ONLY use OEM, even when running 20+ PSI of boost.

And sometimes you pay for a lighter wallet, because you can get the same quality elsewhere, cheaper.

Are you so sure about that?

I am not willing to risk $20k motors with a $60 aftermarket headgasket when a OEM gasket is $75. There are other places to save $15.

How many people use commetic gaskets on $20k motors with out trouble?

Granted commetics are not cheaper, but it just shows you that you don't have to go OEM to get a quality head gasket.

I bet you that everyone here that says "you get what you pay for, oem only" has not ever tried any alternative, or knows anyone who has for that matter.

This is a STUPID arguement...
63 bux ACURA OEM Head Gasket

Personally I would NEVER RISK going with something other than OEM or aftermarket Race.

Currently Running Mugen thin HG... 100 bux from MUGEN. If you like Cheap stuff and are willing to take the risk with Autozone crap... More power to you. If it works for you GREAT but Most people here aren't willing to RISK the integrity of thier mulit thousand Dollar Engine... Not to mention the Hassel of replacing the HG Not to mention the COST of replacing the HG and MAYBE having to replace the Head Bolts TOO.

Come ON So you save 3-10 bux... Big FREAKING DEAL. I'm not a gambeling man... We're not talking about an Oil FIlter here

Honda USes it then SO WILL I.

Grow up dude.

You talk about not taking risks then say you run a thinner headgasket which is another risk.

I know your going to say "Mugen pwnz j00, it don't leak it be made da well" , but anytime you run a thinner head gasket it is a risk. Honda designed the gaskets to have a middle layer for a reason.

do you people realize that OEM Honda head gaskets ARE MADE BY FEL-PRO

so that 35-60 bux that you spend at advance auto parts gives you THE EXACT SAME HEAD GASKET

i dont want to sound like a dick but the next time you buy a "honda" head gasket look at the manufacturers info paper that is inside the plastic.......tell me what it says in fine print at the bottom.........BINGO, it says manufactured by felpro usa

fact of the matter is, most companies outsource parts in order to save money for production costs and maximize profit. That process is called "smart business", Honda has been doing stuff like this for years, why do you think they are so successful
