Lifting engine and tranny by the intake manifold???
Ok, I went to see my engine today and it had a seatbelt strap wraped around the intake manifold and made a loop. Im assuming the loop was used to lift the engine at the place i got it from... can the intake manifold safely hold that much weight??? it seemed odd to me.
That really isn't the recommended way. If i were you i would be more than a little concerned. I'd be quite pissed off actually. Thats YOUR money they are ******* around with.
The correct way is to bolt a chain to an open 12mm stud on the back right of the head (intake manifold side when viewed from the front) and the transmission bell housing near the clutch slave cylinder. This is outlined in the Helms shop manual.
I would be concerned if the shop is doing **** like that what other liberties with they take and what corners will they cut? This is why i always recommend doing your own work. Most places just dont give a **** these days.
