crossmember?
I am not used to the earlier model civics.. only dealt with eg and ek.. on my new ef I noticed there are two bars going diagonally from the front control arm to the front of the car... is this called the "crossmember"? why do these civics come equipped with this when the newer ones dont? What purpose does it serve and is it worth it to replace these bars with say upgraded thicker bars?
the two bars you're describing are called radius rods.
Crossmember is what the radius rods bolt on to in front.
Two holes on other end of radius rod bolt to lower control arm.
I don't know why newer ones don't have them.
they keep your front lcas in place .
Took me 5 min to cut through one radius rod w/a sawzall.
I don't see a need to upgrade.
