Stuck at 1/4 throttle?!?!
I just got a GSR w/ a jdm b18c (sir-g) motor in it and when i was going at it hard today at full throttle, I went to brake to slow down and the car wasn't slowing down. I thought that my brakes went out so I downshifted into second and redlined the car (i was goin about 75 i think) so I knew that the brakes werent the problem. I turn the engine off and coast into some random persons driveway and thats where the car is now. I was parked and I put it in neutral and turned the car on and it immediately rev's up so I shut the car off. When I looked under the hood, I saw alot of slack in the throttle linkage and when i took off the intake to look inside the throttle body and the butterly is tilted about 1/4 of the way. I just tried messing around a little bit to see if there was an easy fix, but I'm stumped. Any help is appreciated.

This happened to a friend of mine. A piece of tape somehow got sucked up into his intake and went into his throttle body. It got stuck on the edge and therefore the throttle wouldnt close all the way.
Have looked and seen if any obstructions were "holding" it open?

I did a decent job of looking I think (Its hard to get your head at an angle to see). Would it increase the likelyhood of somethin getting sucked in since the resonator is off? Before I drive 10 minutes to go look again, any more suggestions would be great. Thanks for help.
Did you turn the throttle cam by hand to feel for any binding? If there is binding, remove the cable and check again to eliminate the cable as the problem. Check to see if the throttle plate closes when the throttle cam is pushed to it's closed position. A little WD-40 may work wonders if the throttle shaft is sticking...
Aright thanks for the suggestions. I just fixed it and it always seems to be a simple thing that mess's you up. One of the screws holding the butterfly on was missing and that left a decent sized area for air to flow through which is why it was idleing so high. The second problem with there being only one screw is that the butterfly wasnt perfectly alligned and with the pedal all the way up, it would get jammed a little bit against the throttle body which made the car jump a little more when accelerating. I put a new one in so everything is good........ now i just wonder what happened to the original butterfly screw?
