Spark Wire resitance too low or high somethen like that
Was checking my stock wires cuase im having a black smoke issue. I have a old multimeter, if thats the name of it. For resistance it has 5 settings 2000k 200k 20k 2000 and 20, i was checking them on 2000k, why i dont know, was the first i picked. 3 wires were beterr 14 and zero, the 4th wire was like 300-400, couldnt get a stable number. Is this wire bad or it acceptable. d15b7
Sounds bad to me. If you just weren't making good contact with the wire, or maybe where the probes are plugged into the meter were corroded, you have to deal with that. But if the wire's actual resistance is flaky then it's not good.
wire recistance depending ont he scale your using should look like this
from Longest to shortest
1000
800
600
400
recistance should drop equally for length

so then 300-400 on the 3rd longest wire at 2000k setting is bad. And the connections on meter were good. And how do the differnet setting on that work on a multi meter like that. Could this also cuase me to make black smoke, fuel not being complety burned becuse of bad wire?
yes it can induce a misfire condition which would creat excess fuel making black smoke. The 2000k is just a scale setting as long as the recistance values drop equally for length you should be ok
Well they dont, so it looks like im ganna get me some new plug wires. Thanks for the help. Would gas milage be the same with this problem, cuase its not adding too much gas, its just not completly burning the right amount, correct?

Gas mileage will probably go down. That bad plug wire is going to cause a missfire so the o2 sensor is going to see the extra oxygen. Then the ECU will richen up the mixture trying to compensate.
