I have read that it is normal to burn oil when VTEC is engaging. Two months ago I installed DC headers SS, AEM V2 CAI and a Comptech exhaust. I have noticed that my oil level is very low every two weeks. In fact this morning I had to add two quarts of 5/30 oil. This was the second time in 2 1/2 weeks I had to add oil.

There are no leaks that I know of.

What could be the issue?

 

what kind of oil are you using? how many miles are on the car? when you check the oil was the engine cold?

5w30

Is this lighter than others?

Yes, I did check this morning when the engine was cold.

yes it is, switch up to 10/30 or 10/40 and see what you get from there.

 

How about 5w30 syn? I put in 5w30 castrol GTX.

 

i noticed on my 00si i used 5w-30 castrol syn. and it burned quicker, then i switch to the 10w-30 castrol gtx and it worked fine no low oil.
