Wheel locks/lugs? For security
I was wondering what are the options for locking wheel nuts?
I have the old sales brochure for my car, 90 Civic Si, and it shows a set of locking lugnuts. On majestic honda though, I can't find any info.
Is it better to stick with OEM nuts, or can I get a set of 4 from any auto store and be all set?
Also, I auto-x the car, so would aftermarket lug nuts on sit right and possible add stress to the wheel studs?

Wait, so your rims were left on there with only the lock nuts?

no it was just the front driverside..but the thing that sucked the most was this was like 2 weeks after i bought the car and the guy who sold them to me didn't leave the key for them in the car...but my point was that if someone wants your rims they can get them...
wheel locks are better than nothing... yea if somebody is gonna jack your rims, they are most likely gonna succeed bcuz there's so many keys out there that ppl can get their hands on...

i have lockign lugs that i got from the honda dealer. each key is different and has its own serial #. thay give you a registration card so if you lose you key, they have it on file what one you need and will get you the same key. i guess there is over 500 different keys honda makes for the lugs.

WRONG, hey guy there are only ten different locks unless you count the old style and then there are 20 total. One of the more difficult locks to remove without the key, Honda locks are definitely a better alternative to most of the other locks available, but if you know a guy who works as a tech at a honda/acura dealer he can buy his own master set for $75 from special tools. As with all things if someone wants it bad enough they are going to take it from you.

I know at my work (Toyota) we have boxes of wheel locks, there are 20, half is one style half is the regular style. So pretty much about 10 wheel locks for all Toyotas. They are made by McGard which makes them for Honda also but I'm not sure if they are the same ones as the Toyota ones or if each brand has their own set.
Does anyone know the cost for a set of 4 wheel locks from a dealer, or rather what did your dealer charge, since some like to rip people off?
Also, are the wheel locks available on the Majestic Honda website? I can't seem to find them anywhere on it.

Snap the studs, its the easiest way to get locked lugs off
There is no protection against a determined thief. I wouldnt even waste money on locking lugs, just keep that sucker parked in the garage, or use some kind of motion sensor alarm.

So if I wanted to get wheel locks where's the best place to get them? Should I go to the Honda/Acura dealership or is there a brand off the internet I should look into?

multiple different sets of lugs/locks seems to be the only way to "slow" thieves down..if they want them though..they will succeed..snapping off the studs seems the most popular/quick method around here...as far as the "park it in the garage" comment..i wish i had a garage..apartment life sucks yo..this is why i will only afford myself ROTA's and not VOLK's
death to all thieves..yes..i said death
