I woudl be lying if I said you guys were not stressing me out. We have 1/2 of money out in deposits that are not refundable. They were sent out after everyone express a determination in having the event. We are FAR from having enough people to cover the track and banquet costs.

I want to bring this to everyone's attention up front so you guys know what we are facing. We need about 65 drivers to cover costs at this point (Banquest guests are still covering track exspenses and we owe them a banquet). Our options are

1) Fill the event up (no troubles)

2) Have the even partially full and have to pay an additional amount (Shoudl have just kept it at $350 I guess)

3) CANCEL the Expo and Refund everyone 1/2 of the money they paid.

please everyone be sure you understand what is going on and encourage people to join the driving spots.

I hope everyone realizes how much time and energy goes into organizing an event like this. Trey and his wife have spent countless hours dealing with the track, people who want refunds because it had to be moved, sponsors, etc. He does it because he's loves the R and he loves racing. He also does it to share the safe racing experience with others.

If you were at the expo last year, you know how well it went and how much fun it was. Sign up, get your friends to sign up, pay, and make this event just as good as the last one.

You don't know why?... simple. it was moved too many times ( no fault of Expo ) and that killed peoples Vacation days and discouraged others.

I thought once the doors opened to non-ITRs there would be a quick sign up of a lot of people. guess not.

 

I'd sign up to drive but I am just too damn gunshy for track driving at the moment . I'm still spooked by my spin at VIR a few years back....

Everyone else that isn't a ***** like me needs to sign the hell up for this event!!!!!

Very true.

Rguy, who is working on funds for the track day, but isnt sure he can pony up for the Pads, gas money, hotel, food, oil changes....etc. Just going for the banquet is crazy, you can't put crack in front of an addict and expect him not to smoke it..... hehehe.

Track driving is expensive......

Trey, Is there a way to send out letters ( actual paper in the mail ) to who participated in previous Expos?

maybe we need to work harder to spread the word to other enthusiasts? I know I've pressed everyone I know to go.. and most of my friends are going already.. so I dunno..

did anyone ever contact the NSX and S2k clubs? that might be a good place to start to fill this bad boy up..

worst case, move on to the BMW, Porsche, and Audi clubs..

Audi club and mazdadrivers events are some of the best I've attended..... FWIW.

Come on, just go slow and take your time- this is a HPDE- there is no need to go fast, just learn.
