i would try going for the hose from the bottom, remove the plastic under thingy, and that should free up the way. all radiator get crudded up, no reason to buy a new one unless it does crack, just flush the sucker out nice and cleanwith the flush kits you can get. as for removing the radiator, i think what you said is pretty much it
