I've got a '99 EX, and a 92 B18a head, can i put it on a OBD2 block?
Allright, i have a 99 civic EX, and i want to build an engine to replace my D16. Can i put an OBD 1 B18 head on an OBD2 block? Also, is there any difference between a B18A head and a B18B head? Can i replace the spring, valves, retainers, etc...and "make it" a B18B? Sorry, I've been an enthusiast for a while, but I'm definitly still learning. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You cant put a B series head on a D series block if thats what your thinking. But you could put a OBD1 head on a OBD2 block just have to do some rewiring.
What kind of rewiring would i need to do? I wanna rebuild a B18A head (new spring, retainers, valves, cams, whatever else...) and i wanna put it on a B18B block. The head is OBD1, and the block will be OBD2. I'm looking at forced induction. Can it be done?
Sure, im not sure if OBD2 has a crank sensor that youll need to mess with and since both arent VTEC theres no drilling for VTEC holes for the oil. Atleast i dont think the head is VTEC or is it? hmm.... now i wonder but to tired to search ::shurgs::
You would probably be better off wiring the head to OBD2 for easy wiring because the car is OBD2. And i think for that its just changing the dizzy. But dont quote me on that. but you will need to rewire it.
