I think it's a good swap.

It bolts in the same a a h22. so get a h22 mount kit.

it's a super cheap engine, with lots-o-torque, and about 70lbs lighter than a h22.

for wireing and such get a 95-94 accord ex ECU that should work just fine. then you just have to wire for VTEC.

good luck.

i did a f22a1 out of a 91 accord in my 94 4dr lx. the easiest way..... use the hasport h22 mount kit for civics. i tried to fab alot of the stuff myself and some worked, some didnt, it looked kinda hacked. finaly just used the hasport kit. it was tight, the only 94 4dr civic around spokane running the sohc 2.2. and that leaves you open to the h22 or 23 later on. im not telling you to get the h22. to be honest, i friggin loved the f22, torque out the *** in that light *** car. hasport.......its the way to go. all motor with bolt ons i was runnin mid 14's on the 13" steele wheel with hubcaps. sleeper. good luck man. reaserch h22 into the civic, its all the same process

any tranny out of the prelude or accord, 4cyl-5-speed of course. the best is the prelude h22 tranny, shorter gears. or if your wanting to hit 147 mph like i did, use the acoord tranny, super tall gears. except the newer atts tranny out of the prelude, dont even try, way to much wiring and fab work.

its not cheap, total about a grand is what i spent, but i got it when it first came out. plus all the little things like axles and whatnot. if you got the dough, use their axle kit too.

Yeah, if you're going to do a F series swap, get the H22 tranny. Same with the D series. People want the D16Z6/Y8 tranny. Shorter gears. The F22B1 in my 97 Accord has got gobs of torque. But damn, wiring up the ***.

ok, if you wanna piece yours together (axles) heres the recipe:use 90 up accord intermediate shaft with 90-93 integra axles. to use the prelude intermediate shaft a shorter left-hand axle with a female inner joint must be used. to construct the proper left-hand axle, use 94 gsr left-hand axle inner and outer joints on an 86-89 integra axle shaft. hope you understand all that

If I'm not mistaken, 1994-1995 are OBD1 and 1996-1997 are OBD2.

ya, i never actualy took pics of that car. i wanted a dsm at the time so i sold it to some chick in coeur 'd alene ID. since i was using an obd1 motor in an obd1 car, it was just little wiring issues, just basicaly extending some of the wires. like the alternator is on the front of the engine instead of the back. and i got away with using the lx ecu since there was no vtec. i tried to make it as simple as possible.

shift linkage, there is none. h and f use cable shifters. so you need the whole shifter assembley out of an accord or prelude.... plus the cables. you have to cut a hole in the floor for the cable to go through. i dont know directly about the dist. sorry man.

As far as the cable rigging goes, should be the same as swapping in a H22 into an EG.

This is a H22 into an EK taken from AbaZ's thread on his H22 into an EK. Should be the same into an EG.
