A clogged fuel filter SHOULD also result in a noticeable loss in power.... Its easy to change out though, so try it out and see what happens. Could also be the O2 sensor failing, which I would suspect before the filter...

Fouled spark plugs? Bad plug wires cap & rotor (arcing)? Spark timing way off? Plugged cat? Bad O2 sensor? Dragging brakes? Suspension alignment? Flat tires? Auto-trans starting to mess up? The possibilities are endless. Tune-up first, because that stuff can hide a real problem with misleading symptoms.

I really doubt it is tune up stuff. That will cause the milage to drop off slowly. A plugged fuel filter will not cause it, it would make your mileage a little better but power to be off because of running lean. Sounds like a fuel pressure regulator, tranny problem (no overdrive), plugged exhaust, malfunctioning thermostat (engine not running warm enough) or maybe a bad mass air flow sensor. As you can see, there are many things that can cause it, and you are never gonna fix it by just aimlessly replacing parts.
