Extrude Honing, I guess it can be the same as P&P but better....
There is a process done by a company called extrude Honing.
http://www.extrudehone.com/powerflow.html
This process uses a slurry that is ran trough a metal surface, in this case round or oval such as the INtake manifold and will leave a mirror like surface. I was told that this process can yield a lot of power and as mentioned in many threads when the surface that air passes on is smoother it can yield less turbulance at high RPMs.
Any comments on this process?
Anyone have had first hand experience and for what application?
I was told it was $480USD for a 4 cylinder intake manifold.
Thanks

I think Honda did this to ITR intake manifolds?
I've heard that it doesn't necessarily give the best flowing manifold, all by itself. The slurry isn't smart enough to know where to remove more or less material. But that doesn't make it bad, exactly. Maybe after re-shaping the ports, this is a nice way to smooth the whole runner?

Yes, I ws told it smooths the entire intake, this process is also done on the Head.
I am curious because I was told it makes gret power by a Drag shop. Does not neccessarily apply to road racing, since we must have the exhaust.
