EF8 front end question.
i just got in a wreck and i have been notified by my local body shop that i need the following to fix it and just decided to get the JDM front end but have a few questions:
1.) radiator support (from fender to fender; needs to be welded in)Honda part# 60400SH 2A11ZZ
2.) Bumper reinforcement bar Honda Part# 71130SH2A03
3.) Hood
4.) Bumper
5.) headlights
6.) corners and bumper lights
7.) fenders
so my question is if i really need the Bumper Reinforcement Bar. Some people say on here it isnt needed and thats why JDM cars are illegal here, some people say its a must to install this conversion (properly and safely). where does it ACTUALLY bolt on??? any reputable places to get it from...i hear hmotorsonline.com is good. how do they come (condition wise; cracks, dents, rust, yellowing headlights; so on)
i need opinions. thanks in advance.

i got my front end from hmotors...importers dont pick and choose what they get so neither can you..you just gotta take your chances with any of them...really its about packaging, shipping cost, price, and reputation...i recomend HMotors, but steve bullshits about shipping sometimes...cant really depend on him to get aruond to things right away, but you never gotta worry about him screwing you. hes a good business man, just kinda busy, maybe lazy...
im not sure what you mean by bumper reinforcement bar, i assume you mean the bumper support..it should come with the front end...its alot lighter, and smaller than the USDM one.

The bumper reinforcement bar is your only added protection on the front end.Do you really think in your mind that you can do without it?I know what some say it's not needed(when they put kits on-and that bar won't fit),but that is foolish. If you have an accident and run into the back of a car in front of you-IT could mean the differance of your car getting totaled.

no you don't...even if you need it, it will not fit. just park or drive more carefully
also for condition, any condition is fine as long as there are no gouges on the bumper. clean headlights can be found on ebay or JDM sites

that is quite true...that bar makes a difference if you get into an accident. but the subject is about JDM front ends that DO NOT have reinforcements. and it is not needed because the USDM bar will not fit

It's been a while since I did the install of my front-end, but from what I remember, there was no bumper support on the jdm front-end. In fact I remember removing the usdm bumper support (the big metal piece which holds up the "usdm bumper cover", held up by 8 bolts <-- if I remember correctly). Then, the jdm bumper bolted to the where the bumper support was located.
The real dilemma came with the radiator support (small flimsy piece of metal that connects between the headlights). There's a myth that one can only use the jdm radiator support to work with the jdm hood (radiator support refering to that T-shaped bar). This isn't necessarily true, there are ways around it. By modifying the hood (moving the latch reward) to line up with the radiator support, it will work fine.
As far as fenders go, the usdm ones work as well as the jdm ones. One difference being sidemarkers.
Hope this helps.

EF8s have an extra *grill* above the lower mouth and if you put the USDM reinforcement bar, it will not fit unless you heavily modify it. and if you put it on...you can clearly see it in that *grill* and it's pretty ugly
