Default driving at low rpms in fifth

just wondering this....around town i usually drive in fifth gear while doing about 40mph the tach is around 2300-2700 depending if i go a little over 40...
i know if you keep the rpms low, and not drive like you stole the damn thing. you should get good mileage. what im wondering, is if it's bad to cruise while the rpms are that low? if i wanna accelerate ill drop it into fourth...thank's

As long as the engine isn't lugging, though personally I wouldn't drive with it that low.

As long as the engine is not shutting off everytime you do it you should be fine.
