what ZC motor did you buy? If I'm not mistaken there are more then one. If it's a D16 ZC with sohc vtec then it should be the same as d16z6.

There are two zc motors, ones a 1.5 sohc vtec, and the other is a 1.6 dohc non vtec.

You may want to look at the engine code on the block and find out what it says. If its a non vtec motor you can use your harness and run your stock computer. If it is a vtec motor then youll have to use a p28 and run vetec wires.

You might have a D16z6, which is not a zc motor, but it is vtec, and you would need to use the p28 ecu, use your stock harness and add vtec wires.

oh btw, no matter what, use your stock wiring harness w/ or w/o vtec or crap, you will need the following though...
distributor for obd1
injectors
and other such obd1 parts that you find your stock wiring harness will not plug into on the zc.

I thought the JDM 1.5 Sohc VTEC was also a ZC, I dunno.
Look and see what engine code is on the block and let us know so we can help out a little better.

Oh and why would he use a p28 (Which is a SOHC vtec computer) on a non vtec motor?

Ok I think he may have a D16a6 which is a 1.6 sohc non vtec and is ZC. Its out of a 88-91 civic and also in the civic wagon. Heres a web site I found containing alot of engine codes and stuff.

just becuase an engine isn't lested on that site dosn't mean it dosn't exist. like the f23a1 isn't on that list. but it's in all the 98-02 4cly accords.

is the "d15b" a "real" ZC in that it has the "ZC" engine stamp on it?
