I picked up a clean D16y7 engine w/ under 50k miles (complete) from my homie's 98 cx hatch for dirt cheap, going to throw it in my beater 90 civic hb for the time being, but couldn't seem to find some crucial info.

Whole swap is going to go from dpfi to mpfi and using 88-91 si transmission and si ecu,

My question is: Will i need to use the 88-91 si intake manifold, si fuel rail and si injectors? or can i use the 98 cx manifold, fuel rail, and injectors?

I was thinking the older si ECU might conflict and throw codes with the newer sensors in the cx intake manifold and etc... hoping not...

Well, I would recomend that you use as much SI parts as possible since you will be running OBD-0. So yes use the SI manifold, rail IDK, and use the Fuel Injectors.

 

The sensors on the Y7 manifold work , but for ease of installation use the Si manifold.
You will also need the Si distributor. Neither the DX nor the one from the D16Y7 will work with the Si ECU.

Very straight forward swap, remember to swap all the mounting brackets and mounts from the 1.5 to the 1.6.
