I've Searched, but couldn't come up with anything.

Now...

Down here in South Texas, the temperature doesn't go below 95 degrees from the months of Feburary to December. In those months, the A/C is needed.

Now...

When I first bought the car, the A/C worked just fine, but didn't get cold enough. I had a 1997 Honda Accord EX and the A/C blows colder than ever. It still does to this very day with the same freon since the day I bought it back in 2001. The Accord was in NYC for those years which is why there is still good freon in the sysetm, hardly any hot days over there for no more than 2 months.

But...

A month after I bought the Civic, the Evaporator crapped out on me. Had major leaks. I would fill her up with R134-A and within a week, it would be all gone. I took to a local A/C shop where they installed a new Evaporator. I know it wasn't a Honda one, must of been a Universal one. I didn't think much of it.

Now...

The A/C air is cold, but not cold enough. This isn't some "I'm used to cold weather and need 0* temperature inside my car" kind of deal. It's just that the car doesn't cool down enough, even with the temperature all the way on cold and the Blower Fan on # 4 (Full Speed). The only time where the car gets cool, is in the evening where the temperature drops below 85 and the sun isn't shining anymore, until then, I'm baking in it (ok not baking, but definitely not comfortable enough).

Now...

Am I asking too much of my tiny A/C system? Asking too much to cool down a 100* interior car? Is there any other alternative to this problem? Such as a better compressor or A/C Condensor from another vehicle?

Dammit, I knew someone was going to say that. Grr...guess I'll get the darkest legal tint (pretty much limo tint here in Texas, at least South Texas).

haha so u dont have any leaks or anything in any on your lines.. i would double check that.

 

Nah, there's no leaks in any of the line, fittings, compressor, etc...I've done the "butane check" where you take the torch with the rubber tube connected at the valve, when the flame turns green, sign of freon leak. Did that numerous times all over the place. Nothing.

 

maybe one of the lines is clogged???? compressor going out???

 

check your AC thermostate....chances are, they didn't not replace the entire core but rather reused some of the older parts. If the thermostate is faulty, it will shut off freon circulation before it's suppose to.
