My tranny is making weird growling noises when everytime I left off the clutch.. Is the clutch dead?? Like say i'm starting in first then and gettin ready to take off when I let off the clutch i hear it growling and smell burnt clutch then shift to 2nd same thing but while its driving then I shift to 3rd,4th,5th its normal no growling or smell burnt clutch... What is wrong with it? Thanks for the help.
Could be a number of things. Could be throwout bearing, casing bearings, shaft bearings, etc. Does it happen when you are at a light with your foot off the clutch? Does it go away when you push the clutch in?

no it only make the noise when i disengage it to start moving from a standing point. Once the disengage to start moving again it will make the noise then when regular drive it gone even when shift gears.
