NSX Trannys
I have seen some NSX's with 6-speeds and some with 5-speeds old and new, and I was just wondering if it was some kind of option or certain years or what? And those of you that have driven both notice any major differences? A few people I talked to about it seem to think there isnt really that much difference in the performance aspect of it
91-96 NSXs came with a 5spd, and 97+ are 6spd. Stock gearing on the 5spd will drop you out of the powerband, but the tall second gear can be an advantage on a road course. There are quite a few 6spd conversions on pre 97 cars, but the typeR gearset and a new ring and pinion are far more economical solutiond.
