ive been havent problems with the vss
i pull the whole thing out and looked inside the tranny
looks like hardly any fluid in there
is this normal or should i fill it
and if it does need more
could this be the problem with my speedo going out all the time

Do you know how the check the tranny fluid? You do not look in. You have to remove the filler hole on the side of the tranny. When the fluid comes out that means it is full.

I don't think that is why your spedo is not working. My axle seal came out of the tranny this weekend on the way to the track and I lost all my fluid. My speedo worked fine but I lost 5th gear until I filled it with fluid again.
