Should I Venture into the 4 wheel drive world?
So it has finally hit me..... 4 Wheel drive.....
I am in the process of thinking should I tried my EJ1 for a GSX or '97 wrx
I know that they are so much faster and good looking than a civic, but the cost of tuning a gsx/wrx is costly I know that already. I've seen some fast gsx/wrx and bad *** lookin ones too. And the fact your boosting already temps me SO MUCH...

GSXs are fast I would get a 1st gen TSI AWD (maybe just FWD) or GSX or GS-T. 1st gens are stronger and easier to upgrade, and don't look like a chicks car. Try to get one with 4 bolt. 2nd gens are cool too much alot less reliable the whole idea of crankwalk would scare me.
And there is no way in hell a civic would keep up with a DSM if they both had same money put in, civic might handle better though.

Sounds like you already made up your mind.

well i like the look of a civic better but thats just imo, but i mean isnt the piont of makeing a civic fast to have a challange, but if u just want cheap and fast get a 1st gen DSM, if u dont want a domstic
i've thought about trading my honda for a DSM many times. but every time i do i realize how shitty they really are. i mean, theyre awesome performers, but they dont handle anywhere near as good as a civic can, and they are nowhere near as reliable as hondas. pretty much everyone i know who has a DSM says their car is sitting on jackstands 75% of the time. and during the time that it is working, there's still some minor problem wrong with it. i'd definitly buy one for a weekend warrior, but nothing i'd use as a daily driver/racer.
WRX's kick *** on the other hand. definitly my next car

but i do hafta agree a WRX is a better car, but its so much more money since it came so recently, not a big cheap used market like the DSM, but hey u could alwasy make a fast DSM by puttin that motor in a colt

what's wrong with a 4 door? the only good WRC cars have been 4dr's. and despite popular belief, the two rear doors don't add very much weight, if any.

there is a element (show car) thats fitted with a "race prep'd" K20a & MDX AWD drivetrain - not sure how well it actually runs but sounds interesting...I will get the name of the shop that built it during lunch...imagune doing the same to a 01+ civic or 03+accord & sticking a k24/k20a motor in there...won't be long till someone with a lot of $$$ does it
where are u going to find a 97 wrx? cept over seas... maybe a 97 2.5rs w/ wrx turbo kit but ...the wrx didnt go into production until 2002
DSM's are the greatest oil burners in the world. (next to diesels) the WRX is great if you don't like doing much upgrading. i've seen 2.5rs w/ turbo kits that smoke any WRX out there, plus they weigh less.
