help! axel nut issue
OK i have a 92 HB and i am trying to take the axel nut off the driver side and it WILL NOT come loose. Just to make sure i am turing it the right way which way is it threaded?? will i have to turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to get that bich off???
thanks for all the help in advance!

It's threaded just like a normal bolt. Here's a good idea that I figured out after fighting with them. Get a jack, and a breaker bar, and your socket. Put the breaker bar on the socket and put it on the axle nut with the car still on the ground. Set the breaker bar just a but less than horizontal, and stick the jack up under it. Jack it up. If that thing doesn't come loose something is WRONG.
heres wut ALWAYS works for me
spray the nut with wd40, take a 32 socket and put it over the axel nut, pound around the socket until u think its ready, take a big breaker bar and step on it. this usually always works. good luck!!

Yeah, came up with that after me and a buddy of mine (who managed to snap a half in breaker bar) fought with mine and couldn't get it off. I was like hey man, lets try this

i always resort to a massive craftsman impact!!! i have heard of people actually putting the breaker bar on it and putting the car in gear and wam as soon as the breaker hits the ground it is loose!!!
to remove the lower balljoint you need to turn the wheel in either direction fully. Either all the way left or all the way right. take no less than a 2lb (pref a 5lb) hammer and hit the LOWER CONTROL ARM at the ball joint, not the ball joint itself. It will take about 10 good hard wacks to "pop" loose the lower ball joint. I had the same idea to use a fork and all i did was break the boot and got grease everywhere. ( i ended up having to replace the balljoint at 25.00 for the joint and 20.00 for NAPA to press in the new one) DONT SCREW IT UP. Have good aim and dont be shy, remember your car weighs more than any amount of force you could wack on it. Good Luck!
