Default Exedy Organic Clutch in use with ACT Streetline flywheel...

Hi. My clutch is going in my 96 LS .

I just ordered an Exedy Organic Clutch kit off clutchcity... I was thinking about getting a lightened flywheel as well. I've heard good thigns about the ACT Streetlite.

Think i'll run into any problems using the two different brands or should I be good to go? Anyone ever use this combo? Comments?

I was gonna order this exact combo from prostreetonline.com and they said it will work fine. Maybe others can vouch for this.

It will work fine, but i was not particularly fond of my exedy. If i were you i would have just gotten the act heavy duty.

just so you guys know.. all ACT does is buy exedy clutches and modifies them lightly..
Also exedy is made in the clean factories of Japan while ACT is made in the dirty sweat shops of Taiwan.
Plus isnt exedy cheaper?

Plz correct me if im wrong.. thx

You pay for what you get. I think the best way to go would be clutchmasters. They are more expensive though. There is nothing wrong with exedy. There is also nothing wrong with ACT. If the price is right and it holds the power you are looking for then go with it. I do like kevlar over organic though. But if you aren't out hot ******* and drive easy it will last long and feel great.

Clutchmasters and ACT are not clutch manufactuers. All they is take the OEM Exedy clutch and increase the clamp load on the pressure plate and change the friction material on the disk and spray paint it a pretty color. As opposed to Exedy, they are true clutch manufactuers and controlled under Japanese supervision. Oh and by the way, you will get what you pay for.. a pretty looking clutch, thats all.
Would you rather pay for a modified OEM or a true racing clutch?
