first unlock your cap locks, it looks like you are YELLING everytime you speak. secondly I don't EVER get cheap springs because in the long run(espically since you're want a 2.5" drop) you will risk damage to the car's suspension, body, etc... Just like the old saying "you get what you pay for" BTW I recommend Eibach springs and H&R springs, one of the two best brand out there. But if you want cheap there is always a APC springs at the local Pepboys

http://www.dictionary.com Look up Oxymoron. Thats what we have here.

Cheap AND Good? If you find a set of these..let me know as well.

Plus, springs arent really that expensive at all in relation to other suspension components.

Just find the drop/rate you want, mate them to a set of shocks meant to handle the specific rate you want, and call it a day.

Unless you have negative camber.

i'd recommend H&R springs over Eibach if you're more of a performance person. H&R's race springs for EG chassis drop your car 2.5" at the front and 2.25" at the rear. eBay has some damn good prices on springs as well (around $145ish shipped). DON'T cut your springs. your spring rates will get all jacked up, you'll end up messing your shocks up, and prolly the rest of your suspension. and if you pay to get your springs cut, you'll feel even more like a jackass in the future when you realize what a stupid mistake it was.

don't forget that you'll need a front and rear camber kit if you drop your car that low. skunk2 front camber and ingalls rear are excellent choices.

i don't like springs, its coliovers for me. Everytime i've had springs i always wasn't happy with the height. too high or too low. thats why i like coilovers. If you don't like it or get tired of it, then a few min on each wheel and your good to go.

By the way i can sell you a set of coilovers if you want. BRAND NEW TOO!

Well yeah. He wants a drop and for it to be cheap. But then again, good and cheap doesn't match. So might as well cut them!

I was thinking more in the path of cutting 3/4" thick 5" diameter tube and just welding it on to the perches.

Neuspeed Race off of ebay can usually be found for pretty cheap. Their stuff is nice (made by H&R).

Here's the bad news. With a drop like that, you'll need upgraded shocks--absolutely. Otherwise, you'll be rollin' like a hood rat--bouncybouncybouncy...

Sprint Springs are really good and cheap, I had them in my old 95 GS-R, my GF's 98 LS. Awesome ride and perfect drop.

3 years rolling on Neuspeed race and I love mine. I tuck the 17's though so you will have to be careful with that much drop.

I'm going to agree. I currently use them on my EJ8, and I love them. Keep in mind they're not a performance spring; they're only a spring for those who want a comfortable ride with the lowered look. The rates are still stiffer than stock, but they're still a little soft.

I use their 2.5"/2.25" model and love them. The ride is very OEM-ish but slightly stiffer than stock. I've had them for four years now with no problems whatsoever. They ride as well as they did when I first bought them, and I have no sagging issues at all. The drop is perfect for me. I currently run them with Koni Yellows (odd, eh?), and it's a very controlled ride. They were cheap, too. Well, mine were on a Christmas Special sale from Import Parts, but they're still affordable at non-sale prices. A place on groupbuycenter.com is selling them. I didn't bother looking at the price, but check that out.
