I've got this car here in PA. (It's an 88 Si) It has to do crazy things like pass emmissions and inspection (we dont have that crap in colorado)

When the car is started it slowly lets a bit of blue smoke out of the tail pipe. Back it outa the garage, and it starts leaking smoke out of every place imaginable! It comes out from under the car, out of the wheel wells, out from under the front bumper! It's always used oil since 0 Miles when it was new in '88 when my grandpa bought it. it seems to not smoke quite as much when you drive it every day.

If this were a VW, I'd say stem seals or maybe a head gasket. Or the valve cover gasket leaking on the block, and this car doesn't have a turbo - it's bone stock.

any ideas?

 

nah that much smoke is rings for sure.

do a compression test.

 

i had smoke from a leaky valve cover gasket, but definately not that much smoke. gotsa be somethin more serious than that'
