quick release steering hubs?
i'm confused about these...i see some sights advertising that you can also purchase an additional momo hub?
some don't advertise you buying any additional hubs, there is not mention?
so are there systems that don't require an additional hub and are in fact the hub and quick release system together? if so which ones?
or do all require the use of an additional hub?

There are two types of quick release steering hubs. One type has a stub that needs to be pinned and welded on the existing steering column shaft. You typically see these sold by race part supply houses that cater to formula/sports racers/stock cars/etc. Since welding and drilling is necessary they can make a generic part (with the exception of the stub diameter needing to match the shaft diameter) that doesn't rely on you needing an additional hub. This is a pain for a production street car though, since you need to cut/trim your existing steering shaft and weld a stub onto it...
Here's a couple examples (note the bare stubs):

The other type fits production/street cars assuming you have an aftermarket hub that uses the standardized 6 hole pattern (Momo, Sparco, OMP, etc.). These are designed to fit between your aftermarket hub and aftermarket steering wheel, so you need this in addition to those parts. There are also a few that require use of their own steering wheel since they use a proprietary pattern (Grant or whatever they sell at the autoparts stores).
Here's some that require the Momo/Sparco hub+wheel (note stub is on plate that fits aforementioned hub):
