Cylinder Head Cleaning
How do you clean the cylinder head... I removed it from the car yesterday and there is a lot of crap in the head. Do the valves have to be removed when cleaning?
go to your local machinist and get it done for under $75
or
go to any auto parts and ask tell them what you are planning to do
and they will get you a nice bucket of the cleaner..
the only bad side is that the valve stem seals might crack with the solvent..

Just go to a machine shop. Have cleaned, surfaced and pressure checked. It's the only thing to do in my opinion. My machinist charges about $65 for all of that.
i disassemble and clean engines all day. heads typically get hot tanked after a quick inspection for loos ****. dry it down
i disassemble down to nothing. toss it back in the hot tank. dry it. blast all the ports and chambers.
you could soak it it carb cleaner but you would NEED to get new seals.
