tried searching but 2 letters isnt searchable.....what exactly is ZC...other than a type of engine....because i need a swap in my 89 dx, dont know what yet...either sohc vtec or dohc non vtec....not really sure which because i dont know much about engines...which is cheaper, faster, ect...thanks

 

it is a Engine code like D15B, D16Z6, D16A6, B16, B18C etc


theres 2 variations and they both have just the ZC stamp on the block

SOHC ZC
SOHC 16 valve motor
1.6L ~ 118ps
basically the same thing as the USDM D16A6 but just JDM

DOHC ZC
DOHC 16 valve motor
1.6L ~ 130hp

 

I just did a ZC swap in to my 89 CRX DX automatic....we added a ZC 5 spd...
a ZC is a 1988-1989 Integra motor Dohc non Vtec....it was alittle work but well worth it...

 

so what would it cost me approx to get a ZC sohc or ZC dohc with transmission...

 

d16a1 is a 88/89 teg motor
and it will not bolt in a 2nd gen.
(and only has 117hp due to cams and IM)

you can get a zc swap for around 500, then replace belts, waterpump, cam seal, usual shizzle.

 

which ZC...sohc or dohc....then you could replace cams to get some horsepower out of it....*obviously* but im a newb...lol....are you talking engine and tranny....cause i'd pay for labor since theres no chance of me doing it

 

"ZC" means 1.6L d series engine in Japan.
