my girlfriend just got a 01 accord and is looking to upgrade the audio. she doesnt have a whole lotta $$ right now, and plans to build on the system over the next year. right now she has this stock deck
2 Qs:
1.what will she do with that extra space once she gets a new HU? (the stock one is twice as tall)

2.Does that hu have rca outs?


edit: that isnt the exact deck, she doesnt have the 6cd changer, just the single

 

a lot of companies make adaptor pieces or trim pieces to fill in the area around the HU. I dont think taht HU has any RCA outputs.

i would go in this order.

HU
speakers or speakers & amp if you have money
amp
sub &amp

 

any idea where i can get that plasic trim piece?

 

any car stereo shop will have the kit and wire adpt. they are made by Metra,Scoche,Amer. inter., Bestkit, I like the Metra . For biggest change in sound do in this order head unit, then amp and sub,then front speakers,then rear speakers [although you can run with rear OEMs] then 4ch amp. Dont forget the HU is the most importent piece you get , so if you want sub bass control it needs a sub out if you want a 4ch amp and fade it needs front and rear outs [RCAs] . hope this helps 94
